Introductory Post - Due 6/30
For this first post, just write 100-200 words about your experiences with writing in the past. How do you feel about your own writing? What have you done in writing classes in the past? What would you like to work on in this class?
Note: post this to your blog. I'll check for it over there.

Today, I can speak for everyone when I say this; " we all had a bit of an awkward but entertaining encounter" entering the domain known as Eng.15 as taught by Prof. Call. It was pretty dynamic for how the class interacted with each one another, but everything seemed to work out pretty well. Anyway, speaking about other english classes: I have taken Honors (once in tenth grade) and other regular english classes that I have passed with flying colors. I mean, I bet if I asked every single person in that classroom what they've learned: 75% would say "ooo....We've reviewed something from a certain period and read books about it" and the other 25 percentage would say "uuh...i don't remember a single thing." In this stage of life, we all surpass a stage of normalcy in an english class; where now in college, it changes by level, method of learning and opens a fresh, unique experience. In summary, in this new english class that we are about to take releases a whole new perspective on teaching english. I mean the dynamics are different, the environment is totally fresh and let's face it....we are to expect the unexpected.
Entering a college english class for the first time, I wasn't sure what to expect. Throughout high school I was blessed with the abiltity to hardly tune into the teacher and still pass with an outstanding gpa. Obviously, we should all be aware that college english will take more hard work and dedication in order to do that. As a freshmen in high school I took a regular college prep english class and contiuned that into spohmore year. After two years of that I wanted to see what an honors class was like. Honors english gave me a feel on how I will need to study and actually pay attention in order to succeed. As far as assignments are concerned I was never a fan of reasearch papers. Creative writing however seemed to interest me. When assigned a creative writing assigment it came easy to me to just write on the paper whatever came into my head. I am looking foward to English 015 this summer.
I am not a huge fan of my own writing because whenever I have written for any of my teachers in the past, I never feel like there is any type of definitive answer to what was good in my essays. Without knowing what was good about my writings, I feel I have not been improving.
I have done research papers, poetry, and essays in the past. Even though I have received high grades for my writing in high school, I am still not happy with what I write. It may be I am not able to see any improvement myself or that there is not any improvement to be seen.
The one thing I would like to work on during this class is to be able to see an improvement in my writing all around.
Even though I was not a fan of English class in high school, I understood that English class could help me express myself and communicate better with others around me. Throughout high school, I took Honors English all four years. My English classes in high school were very typical; the teacher assigned unfair amounts of research papers and writing assignments. But I have to admit, I have become better at writing and communicating thanks to all the assignments. In college, even though it may bore me, I would like to continue to get better to prepare myself for the future. It is crucial to be able to communicate with the others around you to build strong connections whether it may be personal or work related.
Woah guys. Sorry I didn't make it too clear. But this is supposed to go on YOUR blog. That's what they are there for.
